Performance problems
Clicking around in Quaive is slow, what can I do?
What speed can I expect?
Generally, Quaive pages should load in about a second. There are some overview pages that can take a little longer, like the workspaces overview, when you have a lot of them. Or a single Workspace with a lot of activity inside. But no page should take longer than 3 seconds.
Am I slow or is it my provider?
If a page takes longer than 3 seconds to load, you can check if there is a big geographical distance between you and your provider.
Another option is to check the network inspector to see what request is causing the long wait. If there is a long gap between the initial request and the first byte returned, then you could try a different network connection.
If Quaive is quick on your mobile but slow on your PC, you might be using an overloaded WLAN access point. This happens typically during meetings with many people or on guest networks.
If none of the above is given, you might want to contact your provider to check your special situation.
The more Workspaces I am in, the slower Quaive becomes.
If you have access to many workspaces, say a few hundred, your installation might run slow. The reason is that each workspace is a security container and so some checking is done when the system compiles the combined activity stream, looks for todos or events or shows your profile.
But a workspace is meant as a room where you work and you can only have that many projects in parallel, so you should have tens – but not hundreds – of workspaces.
So if you do have access to hundreds of workspaces, there might be a different reason for that. Perhaps you are only in them because you want to supervise them or you want to be a sort of local administrator to help the people there. If that is the case, take a look at the “Remote Admin” feature.
